About us

A route to DeepSeek models for companies that need a contract.

Workhorse is the trading name this site operates under. The company behind it is Byoobai Information Technology Co., Ltd. We provide access to DeepSeek's models and handle the commercial side around that access: the contract, the invoice, and a person whose name you know.

What we do

We buy access to DeepSeek's models and provide it to companies under a contract of our own. Concretely, that means three things a self-service account does not give you:

  • A contract that can be negotiated. Your legal team can propose amendments — liability caps, data protection terms, termination — and there is a counterparty who can actually answer them.
  • An invoice your finance team can book. One monthly invoice for the usage you actually consumed, by bank transfer, rather than a prepaid balance.
  • A named contact. A person who knows your account, not a queue. Ask them the awkward question instead of filing a ticket and waiting.

The technical part is deliberately boring. The endpoint follows the OpenAI chat-completions schema, so in most codebases the change is a base URL and a key. You can read exactly what changes on how it works.

Why this exists

Not because the models are hard to reach. Because a company that runs on purchase orders can struggle to buy them at all. The official route is, in DeepSeek's own words, a self-service and standardized one, and four things follow from that:

  1. The framework agreement cannot be modified.
  2. You must prepay into a balance before you consume anything.
  3. Corporate bank transfer is limited to accounts registered with a +86 mobile number.
  4. The invoice you receive is a Chinese VAT invoice, not a domestic one.

Stack those up and you get a procurement conversation that stalls — not on price, and not on the model. On paperwork. We exist to be the counterparty on the other side of that conversation.

For completeness: the official route is not a dead end. There is a ticket you can file to obtain a standard framework agreement, and DeepSeek's own documentation says they will help you with it. What is not available on that route is any change to the terms themselves.

What the official route is genuinely good at

We are not going to pretend the direct route is bad. It is cheaper for small volumes, it is immediate, and two things about it are better than what a middleman can offer:

Concurrency increases are free

If you need higher concurrency, you can file a request for it and it does not cost anything extra. We are not going to tell you otherwise — and you should not let anyone sell you "extra capacity" as a paid add-on.

  • Cost
  • No extra charge
  • Sold as an add-on
  • No

Unused balance is refundable

Money you have prepaid and not spent can be refunded, and the balance does not expire. That matters if you are worried about locking up cash in a prepayment.

  • Balance expiry
  • None
  • Unspent balance
  • Refundable

If those two facts are the ones that decide it for you, going direct is the right call, and our comparison page says so in more detail. We would rather lose a deal to an honest answer than win one from a customer who finds out later.

What we are not

We are an independent provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent of DeepSeek. We buy access to their models and resell it, and we handle the commercial relationship around it. There is no partnership, no joint venture and no special status — the relationship is the ordinary one between a technology provider and a customer of its API.

This is not only our preference. DeepSeek's own platform terms prohibit describing the relationship in those terms, so the plain statement above is also the accurate one.

Where we operate

Two markets, deliberately. Companies in the United States and companies in Russia, served in English and in Russian from the same site. Both locales get the same models, the same endpoint and the same contract terms; the difference is the language you deal with us in and the currency you are invoiced in.

What is not on this page yet

Three things a company page normally has, and we do not. Saying so seems better than leaving you to notice.

A registered address

Certifications

No ISO badge, no SOC 2 report, no compliance logo. We do not hold one, so there is nothing to display, and we are not going to imply otherwise with a grayed-out badge.

Customer names

We are new. Nobody has agreed to be named yet. When they do, the case studies go on the applications page with their permission.

What we can put in writing today is a data processing agreement, and the terms of the privacy policy and service terms that govern this site. Ask for a contract draft and you will get one.
